I would blame the Ecobee at a guess.
I agree! If it’s acting like that, I would start at the brain. I’m not a HP guru, but maybe it’s possible someone could wire the air handler wrong. Hopefully they didn’t short something in the control wiring at some point, and damage the stat.

The ecobee has been working without issue for nearly two years. Why would it suddenly be responsible for this issue? What changed was the HP and air handler. That’s what I’m struggling with
Trane is probably not going to talk to you, have you tried calling ecobee tech support, they probably will talk to you.

Do a mode change and wait 12 minutes. I am guessing the thermostat has a 5 minute time delay and possibly the heatpump has another 5 min delay.
That’s what I was thinking to, until I saw this.

We came home today and found it stuffy in the house. Temp was 2 degrees above set and cool was on but the blowing air was not cool since the outside unit was off
