It's just...meh. Basic, fast, (hopefully) cheap.
Wouldn't put it in 'The Wall of Pride', nor would I put it in 'The Wall of Shame'.

Small trunk off the top of the plenum = limited airflow through the left side of the coil.
Tape covers a multitude of sins.
Where is the air filter - in the bottom of the furnace or a return grille? What size and type of filter?
Common venting of furnace and water heater (though permitted by code) has the potential to spill from the draft hood. Was a combustion analysis performed and furnace adjustments made? There are better and safer ways to do it but it costs more.
What kind of thermostat?

The larger appliance vent must enter the flue T at the bottom, they have the water heater entering from the bottom, it's against code.
Also, is that tape where the T connects to the flue coming from the ceiling, or is the T fitting overlapping the outside of the ceiling flue?

https://www.trane.com/content/dam/T...quipment/unitary/split-systems/Small Splits/Air Conditioners/18-AC79D1-8-EN.pdf

From a Trane Brochure dated 2016 says on page 8 under " caution " if using existing lineset ( which yours looks like ) says to make sure all joints are brazed not soldered. Your liquid line looks to be soft soldered. ( at coupling and 90 degree elbow near ID coil ) Can't tell if suction line is also as it has insulation on it. Reason for asking for photos of OD unit.

Page 9-10 discusses refrigerant line brazing ( not brazing/soldering ) with nitrogen.

This was for a XR16 unit as an example, but I'm guessing it will say the same no matter what model Trane, if that's what brand you have for the OD unit.

Air filter is at the bottom size 24x12x1...not sure what you mean by type (it's a 3M filter from Lowe's). No combustion analysis was done, but the venting was originally the same way. They put in a Pro T701 thermostat. Thanks for the feedback.

In my area yes. Is it right no. Trane and other manufacturers do have shorter furnaces that would have given height back for the coil. If I am not mistaken close to 11".

Ask them for the start up/commissioning report that they are suppose to do for your system. Things like the static pressure, temperature rise across the HX ( Heat Exchanger ) gas pressure check at manifold, field ( sub-cooling, superheat ) refrigerant charge is to manufacturer spec.

To keep them somewhat honest. Certainly they can fudge the numbers thou...

Make sure system gets registered ( California or Quebec does not need to be registered to receive the manufacturer maximum parts, HX warranty ) as your manufacturer warranty will be decreased if not registered.

The guys that installed that do a Start Up & Commissioning?

The longer I look, the more I find that is wrong.
Snapperhead brought to my attention the drain safety switch on the side of a vertical drain pipe. It won't open until the whole pipe fills up.
