I have an older Newmac, NH2, that needs the whole blower unit replaced. I have a contractor, but it seems the part may not even be available. I have someone at Newmac in Nova Scotia checking on it, but they haven't called back so I suspect the worst.

The furnace is in good condition and should last for many more years I think. I'm surprised Newmac would not have a solution. But here's my question - does anyone have any ideas about how some other blower could be rigged to fit and work well? Surely I'm not the first to have a furnace that ought to be saved but no blower to fit. It doesn't seem like a huge engineering problem, but then I'm no engineer. I'm also betting that if I let it go, it will end up in someone else's house with the kind of modification I'm talking about.

What can I do? Thanks in advance! Lynn

Ok, here is the thing.Even if Newmac doesn't have the blower assembly availiable( which would surprise me no end)everything is availiable in repair parts.Shafts, bearings, pullies, blower wheels, belts, motors and any other thing that goes into rebuilding a blower assembly are off the shelf parts.
The only down side is this is not a cheap repair so get ready to pay a large invoice.
In the future you can help extend the li8fe of the bearings by using non detergent oil to lube the bearings.
