I am a new Facilities Manager and I have an issue with an Alerton VLD-362 thermostat that is running a smaller McQuay RTU for one room. It is currently mounted in a terrible location. A draft blows in from the wall it is on, and it is very far away from a desk that experiences solar gain. This thermostat needs to either get relocated, or a remote temp sensor hooked to it.

Request 1: I need to obtain a programming or install manual on this unit so I can work this issue.

Question 1: Can a remote temp sensor be hooked up so the internal stat sensor NOT be used? This would help me not have to move the thermostat within the room as it has nearly every terminal utilized and extending all those wires and fishing them through a different wall will be a bit of a pain.

Question 2: Can I adjust the max and min temp range within the thermostat without any external software? It currently will not go down past 66 degrees, but I need it go lower.

Thanks for any help!

VLDs basically come in two main flavors, VLD-362 or VLD-362-FF
FF stands for fixed function , meaning non-programmable only configurable.

If you have the FF model then I may be able to get you a manual that may help.
If you don't have the FF model, then VLD-362 can be freely programmed with Alerton tools, so unless you have a copy of Alerton software and the program (Alerton calls this part DDC) then pretty well anything could have been programmed in there.

And I personally do not see any reason why you would want to go below 66 deg for an occupied space setpoint, make sure you are applying this controller to the right application.

good luck.

Sent you all the files you need.

I am sort of in the same boat as the originator of this post. I was also looking for this manual and found this thread on a Google search. Could I also get a copy?
