I have a 5 ton York unit. Installed in 2006. It came with Copeland compressor and somehow failed in 2008 summer (only one that lasted long). Got replaced with warranty service with Danfoss compressor and it failed again in 2009 and got replaced by Danfoss. Now the same issue in 2010.
York dont want to provide a compressor now due to Multiple failure even though its still under limited warranty.
Tech with second opinions cannot find anything fishy except the following
Tech finding so far:
2008. Found some oil leak near the charging point. So he fixed that and then replaced the compressor
2009. Removed the Hard kit and also I did more tests in the power supply sources. (using local power co and master electricians) Nothing came out of that.
2010. No clue whats causing that except the guessing work of the system is not matched. The evaporation coil unit might not be the same from york but the spec is 100BTU20CFM
The compressor spec is 1 phase 5 ton Model H1RD060S06 this is in the outside box
The compressor itself that failed now is XCD470HA01
I'm totally confused now what alternative I have and if anyone can please guide me on what could be taking the compressor time and again.
