This unit's fan will change speed from low to medium to high and to Powerfull but all speeds are very slow compared to the owner's description of the operation when it was new. I operated the unit tonight and agree with him that the fan will shift speeds but the airflow is too low. There is no error codes (blinking light) and no stored error codes. The last contractor replaced the evap fan motor to no avail and gave up, not charging for his time or parts. He was the third contractor to try - I am the fourth.
It seems that the rotational frequency feedback would not match the speed output command it would throw an indoor fan error code.
Is it possible that the speed signals are corrupted to lower levels and the motor speed actually match the fan speed? Seems crazy that the speed commands all were reduced.
Any ideas out there?
I will be scouting other sources for this answer and will post it if I find it and it proves correct.
