Stand by original post, you have no business fooling with this system. I am not being rude, you have posted quite a few very fundamental questions that clearly indicate that you do NOT have the experience or knowledge to be fooling with a 8,000 dollar ice maker.

You DO NOT HAVE A BAD COMPRESSOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or atleast the testing you have done most certianly does NOT indicate so.

As you have shown your inexperience particularly with ice machines, you are going to have one heck of a time getting Manitowoc to pay you your warranty claim. Around here, unless you have documented schooling from mani, the distrubuter will NOT process your claim and you will NOT get paid.

I said it before and I will say it again, you have no business working on it.

idontgetit, You still there?
Back now, physical therapy on shoulder... now it hurts lol!

If, and it is a big if you look at the data supplied by the op, and you trust it, you know you do not have a bad pump.

25 degree evap, heavly iced suction .... no or little superheat happening there... pump must be movin enough gas wouldn't you say?

Pump down test was never needed BUT it did not FAIL it, the amps went UP, no head pressure was given but will assume it went UP and the "it went off on internal overload, and can't get on the roof comment" well it is far more likely that it went off on the suction switch as that is just about the cut out at 7 psi and 3 minutes later it hits 22 and kicks back in and he see's it on his gauges.

This machine has 2 TEV's but the conversations have sounded like it was a single plate machine so far... no ice either plate?...25 degree suction and 60 minutes with no ice on either?... I am not buying the info being provided as accuratly taken or even a systematic approach. The OP does not know what they are doing and this thing likely cost the customer 15 grand installed.

This type of call is exactly why Manitowoc is such a huge pain in the butt about warranty.

I can not really give a good guess as to what is wrong with it, but if we assume that no ice 9is on either plate, then I would be betting on a stuck water valve.

It is possible that it is overcharged, 2 bad TEV's etc, but without good reliable data, no one knows.
