I live in the Grand Rapids, MI area and I'm not sure how I can find a quality HVAC team to browse products and have an good install with. I'm posting here as I'm not even sure what to look for or if it exists... so here goes.
My home is about 3000 sqft and the central air system works fine for the whole house.. almost. I work from home and have 3-4 computers running in my office and it gets pretty stuffy. Cranking down the ac to cool my office ends up freezing out everyone in the house. Another downside is the thermostat is located just out side my office doors, so it ends up getting hit with all the heat and tripping the a/c. Setting it at 76 is really like 72-73 in the rest of the house.
As a temporary solution I bought a portable single room a/c unit.. but it's loud, ugly, and has that exaust vent which doesnt work well with my windows (they swing out, dont slide up and down)
My office is on the front of the house so a big ac unit sticking out the window is out of the question.
Is it possible for a HVAC pro to re-route the vents to the office to a separate a/c unit?
Are there other options that I should look for or question a pro with?
Main goal is to have it as invisible as possible, if the noise can be as low as the main central a/c then that would be a plus
Also if anyone has any reputable companies in west michigan, I'm all ears
