This is the second home that I have had on this property. The first home I went through two different ac units, my current home has been on the property here for three years. Last year, I had to replace the compressor on the ac unit we believe due to lightning.
Now....On this property,(12+ years), we have always had a problem with the lights dimming whenever the ac unit kicks on. We have had the Electric Company out to check it and they say that they can find no problems, our ac repairman couldn't find a problem either. This is a totally new home with all new Panel, wiring, everything, but we still have the light dimming problem.
The worst is in the master bedroom closet, if the ac is running, you can hardly see in there until the ac unit cuts off. Also, if we have the fan on in our bedroom, you can actually hear the difference in the speed / power of the fan.
I have been considering installing a hard start kit.......any suggestions / opinions?
