Took my Klein bag to the supply house where I bought it cause a broken zipper and was told that Klein has changed its warranty rules and the lifetime deal is gone. they ended giving me a new bag as favor but no more, same thing with hand tools.

Agree! I question the legality of advertising something as "lifetime warranty" to later, after thousands sales change the tune. The quality of Klein hand tools has gone down a whole lot and the price gone up.

If you bought it with a lifetime warranty, and they didn't file bankruptcy, should still be a lifetime warranty. Probably bet like everyone else, they have a whole different part of the company making Klein for HD/bLowe's, and those are the ones they don't want to warrant.
If people start duct taping it to a brick and tossing it thru their window, maybe they'd change their tune. Of course I'm not advocating that...

Kind of like how when I have a problem with my tire, I give it to my grandma and tell her to throw it thru Discount Tire's window?

Personally, I will still willingly pay more for Klein's stuff that's made in USA, but if it's made in China I won't. This goes for pretty much everything that I buy though, so whatever. Were Klein's tool pouches ever made in the USA?

Carhartt jackets is a good example of what I'm talking about, since I just bought a new one of those a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes you'll see the exact same jackets hanging on a rack at the store, but if you start rifling thru them and looking at the tags some will say "Made in USA" while others will say "Hecho en Mexico". All for the same price. Most people don't care, but this kind of stuff bugs me.

As long as I have the money and I'm not struggling to survive, I will gladly pay a few bucks more (or the same amount as is the case with Carhartt) to help out my fellow Americans if given the chance.

:patriot:

I agree though. Klein should stand by their crappy warranty. What the hell, Klein?

Try a different supplier to process the warranty.

I went on the website, and under warranty I see no mention of lifetime on anything.

Under handtools it says “Normal Life of the Product”

What the hell does that mean?

The vendor gave me a new free bag as a favor and that was the end of it, prior they were exchanging it no questions asked. Klein changed the warranty terms year or so ago he said.
Veto did something similar with their overpriced bags.

I asked the supplier if the fact the info on the top of the Klein nut drivers wears off a warranty issue.
He said no, I said yes. How don't know which one I'm grabbing. It was their fault they chose a poor labelling method!!

They honored it.
I won't buy another Klein nut drivers set again.

I'm still using Klein tools that I've purchased over the years. When I wore the paint off the ends of the nutdrivers, I would repaint them with the model paint available at a hobby shop. At the same time, I'd paint the collar of the handle to make the easy to identify when they were laying on the floor, or bench, without seeing the end of the handle. I purchased a set of drivers from the Snapon man, and was a little shocked at a hunnert dollar price tag. I keep them in the garage in one of my 5 rollaways. Yeah, I'm a toolfreak!!!

I wrapped the 5/16" shaft with electrical tape.
I can feel it without looking and if I'm looking, then I can see it.

Oh; that reminds me of a question:

A month or so ago I stopped in at an installation site: we were replacing a residential system. Everyone was wearing a cloth nail apron. Sheet metal screws, electrical bits, copper fittings, etc. - whatever they were working on at the time. I have never done that (except when doing carpenter type work <g>) and I congratulated the crew on the efficiency idea.

Does anyone here use that trick?

Long time ago I would wear one...... keeps that junk out of your pockets. Also used to keep a magnet in my pocket..... bout a 2 inch diameter magnet.. 1/4 inch thick... for holding screws, nuts, bolts... where you could just reach down and grab them off the outside of your pocket.

I aint seen a nail apron in 25 years.
