I want to build a 4'X4'X4' fresh water tank (64 cu.ft.), insulated with 4" R-13 household insulation. I want to chill 50 to 56 degree F. water to approximately 45 degrees F. in a reasonable amount of time (1 hour to 2 hours)
The tank will have a circulating pump of 20 gph aprox.
My plan is to install 32' of 3/8" copper tubing encased in clear plastic tubing directly into the water as an evaporator (plastic tubing is to keep copper out of the water, copper kills crustaceans) With a 1/4 ton condensing unit, receiver and 1/4 ton expansion valve, pressure controlled.
What say you?
All help, comment appreciated.
