I live in Dallas Texas and am interested in learning more about HVAC. I worked in a shipping recieving job for 5 years making around 50 grand a year, untill I got laid off two years ago. Since then I have been working alot of dead end jobs. I am wanting a career that pays good and I can retire with. Any ideas on the best ways to get started with this profession in this area? I have been reading the forums alot and I know there are alot of different opinions, but I would be grateful for any feedback. I would also be grateful for thoughts on schools, unions, and companies. As well you should. I'm an alum class of 80. E-mail me sometime.Swat has likely told you about Eastfield in Dallas. If a commute is okay, try Tarrant County College www.tccd.edu in south Fort Worth. I teach there and feel it is one of the best schools in the south...yeah I am prejudice
