I got it. Looks like the tie issue was completely unrelated. The Annex J IP was different. Once changed everything started talking again.

I have a customer that has approached us in regards to their existing Alerton system. Every Alerton system that I have worked on has a computer loaded with the Envision software. I am being told that this site doesn't have a front end computer connected anywhere. One of our service technicians sent me some pictures of a VLC-1188C3 controller for the boiler system they are having trouble with, and a picture of a BTI. Is there anything I can do without Envision on site? I would like to review the live data in VisualLogic for the boiler system to figure out why things aren't working correctly.

If anyone has any additional information or software that they could send that would be great! Thanks for the feedback.

Do you have envision or compass running on your pc? If so you can use a contemporary router and tie in with bacnet mstp to talk to the controller. Then you can read ddc from device when connected..

No unfortunately I don’t have either software program. Typically the sites that I have with Alerton have something like Envision loaded on a computer. I am being told that this site doesn’t have it, so that is my issue. I guess the customer doesn’t want to deal with the local Alerton rep anymore, so they are looking to us for assistance. I would prefer to troubleshoot and repair their issue versus recommend replacement. Especially since I really like Alertons VisualLogic. Thanks for your reply.

So typically if it is a full alerton site then there has to be a front end or the customer would not be able to see graphics. Weather it be a workstation or on a server off site/onsite.

There are some not so typical sites that will have only a couple of favs just running standalone alerton controls.

This happened to me ones, changed the port number but it did not work and I ended up reinstalling or changing the rep/job cannot remember which. Try changing the rep/job to Generic/Generic. Also add your email address in your profile or send me an email so that I can the abs3.0.iso file.
Are you still available to send over that ISO file? We are having issues with bactalk failing to launch the "public web server"

Hey All,

I have a customer who lost a power supply on a WebTalk 2.5 PC. When the IT guy replaced the PS this weekend the PC would boot, but there is an error. It looks like the system tries to automatically login but posts the following error....

"ksign: public key is 1114027809 seconds newer than the signature"

My first guess is that the system clock is different than the OS clock. Looks like the PC is using Linux Fedora. I set the CMOS to local time, but I have no clue how to check the OS time or set it.

Any thoughts?

TIA
WebTalk is an old web portal to the system, They were so rock solid, we never really got into any troubleshooting. However - that's not the server - it's just a web portal. There's a server out there somewhere, if they can't get the Webtalk back up, the customer can use the server inside the building, from outside they can VPN in to their network and use the machine with remote desktop, or Teamviewer.

Are you sure there's no front end? That's highly unusual. Not a lot you can do with the system without a front end.

There is a Niagara Visual Logic module that might be of some help. I am not sure whether or not you can view love data, but you can download code to the controllers. The module has to be licensed but just throwing it out there as an option.

There could be a new service running on port 80, if this is the case you will get a pop-up saying something about a collision or service already running on port 80. There have been some updates that has windows spooling up some services on that exact port so using netstat will likely just associate it with PID 4 which is a system service. If this is the case you can just google "what is running on port 80 windows (insert version here) and you will get a list of possible culprits, the last couple of tie I've seen it the culprit was an SQL web servlet of some sort. If this doesn't get it sorted, then try running it as administrator. If this doesn't work, reboot the computer. If this doesn't work, you will need to move the computer close to an open window, and slowly slide the computer of the table, and out of said window.

We have DDC bar enterprise and are having issues creating the child-license. Does anyone have a cheat sheet or can you advise on the necessary steps to create a user license with the enterprise version of DDC bar?

Good advice. I have had this work for me several times. [emoji16]

The issue I am having is one license works and the other, when I type in the key is telling me that the license is already in use. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the license and still the same error.

Envision 2.6 compatibility with Visio 2016 on Windows 10 machine

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has Envision 2.6 working with Visio 2016 on a Windows 10 machine?

Best Regards,
Boris

Hi Boris, I doubt that 2.6 VisualLogic would work with Visio 2016. I tried Visio 2013 but could not got it to work. Envision 2.6 VisualLogic only works with Visio 2007 and 2010. Compass 1.6.3 VisiualLogic works with Visio 2013 and 2016.

Hi Reckles,

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get Visio 2013 32 bit to work with Envision 2.6 but not 2016. Do you know if Envision 3.1 works with 2016? I might push the client to upgrade to that.

Not a huge fan of Compass to be honest.
