PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE mark the t-stat with the unit number if there are multiple stats & units, so I can find the unit without climbing up and down the latter fifteen times trying to see if the disconnect killed power to the correct stat. Also, when doing new construction, if you put a zone control or fire damper in as an afterthought, please be kind, mark it on the blueprints and leave the manuals with the owner, not in the ceiling or attic hidden under or behind something. I work for a very big private school K-12, with 250+ HVAC units fridges and freezers, and going behind the commercial company they used before I got hired is a pain in the a$$. Although the commercial company does good work, they keep all of the damn literature, and never mark where they install things. When I owned my own business, I did most of the installs my self, always left the manuals with the home owner. I've been here for two years, and am still finding things out about the buildings that were built right before I got here. Why do installers make our work so hard, is it an inside joke that installers get that technicians don't? Cause I'm not f'king laughing!:gah:
