IMC 304.11 Guards - Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that require service and roof hatch openings are located within 10' of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches above the floor roof or grade below.

Is that curb ventilated? It needs to be per code, and top of fan 42 inches above the roof.

if i could get a quarter for every code violation I have seen in the field I would be retired right now in Belize ... the wiring is a red hot flag right there however...

Well he would have had a permit pulled and a guard rail install if the installer hadn't fallen off the edge and taken out the guard rail guy on his way down.

Technically, if the grease duct maintains 18" from combustibles it isn't required to be wrapped. I recently ran into this on a job. Sounds crazy. We usually wrap anyway for piece of mind.
