Empire warm air space heaters are direct vented. Good product and reasonably priced. Forget about heat pumps. Noone will service them in this area, unless they are transplanted from down south.

I like the reznor unit heaters, get the one with sealed combustion, side wall vented.

Same with the Modine Hot Dawg.

Work great in michigan not expensive but very functional.

I like the Modine Hot Dawg as well. Thats a good choice for the garage.
