Can somebody explain how this section of oil return works, please? I know that this is where the oil return coming from, going to the pump and up to the oil return inlet of the compressor. But I just can't understand how this part work, the oil level switch, the connection on the top and bottom and this 2 sight glasses paralleled to the oil level switch. Please help.

the sigh glasses are there to check the separator/sump oil level, the top/bottom connections are for equalization purposes.

Oil like any fluid will seek its same level . As oil fills the oil separator it fills the level sensor and sight glasses piping. Fluids will not flow into a space if the vapor above cannot be displaced.
