Oh. I more thing. I am not trying to fix thischiller or anything, I just like to gain some basic understanding of this chillers component.

 

the sigh glasses are there to check the separator/sump oil level, the top/bottom connections are for equalization purposes.

 

Sorry if I have to ask again. So there's no oil coming from the top connection just the bottom?

 

Oil like any fluid will seek its same level . As oil fills the oil separator it fills the level sensor and sight glasses piping. Fluids will not flow into a space if the vapor above cannot be displaced.
