Common connection is one issue, power to the thermostats is another. The TR/TW terminals for each zone may or may not be a constant source of power for the thermostats. Hooking the wrong wire to the wrong terminal can not only fry the board, but can also take out the expensive wifi thermostats. Paying somebody a service call that's familiar with your zone system is money well spent.
