Hi, I just had an entirely brand new HVAC system installed. A trane AC and Natural Gas system. My the install included a new Honeywell th8320wf vision pro wifi thermostat.

My main question is there's a feature called Auto Changeover that "used in climates where both air conditioning and heating are used on the same day. When the system is set to AUTO, the thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling depending on the indoor temperature."

This feature is not available on my thermostat. Looking at the manual it says the feature is only available depending on how the thermostat was installed. I dont know how it was installed. But wondering if this is a limitation in my system or the installation. I'm thinking its the installation since they cut corners in other areas.

Anyone have any experience here?

Typically, the thermostat needs to be configured for that Auto mode. Call your installing contractor and ask them to stop by and reconfigure your thermostat so that the display gives the Auto option.

I guess I'm trying to avoid another service call (service calls arent easy in my household these days) and determine if it can be done or its possibly restricted based on my setup. If they just didnt configure it maybe I can do it myself and avoid scheduling another call. Looking at the installation guide and wiring schema I dont see anything specific.

You need the installer guide.

Honeywell doesnt seem to have a specific installation guide for this thermostat. I've looked at both the Use Guide and the System Setup.

Nope, found an install guide of a very similar model and nothing is mentioned specifically for wiring. Will have to call the installer I guess.

What is the entire model number of the thermostat?

I've been looking but all I have is the model on the user manual and noted here in the subject: TH8320WF

Does that help?
Either on the back of the thermostat or the sub-plate there will be the entire model number including and followed by about 4 numbers. Those last numbers are important.
