Honeywell T6 Pro question

So I guess this is the thread for all T6 questions. I just had a Performance 96 Gas Furnace installed today. The dealer had agreed to include a Wi-Fi thermostat as part of the negotiations, but the workers installed a T6 Pro instead. I only noticed this after they left, I thought it was wrong originally when I did not see Wi-Fi on the box, but looked up T6 Pro and it seemed that it did have Wi-Fi (but turns out I missed that that was only on the Smart model). I spoke to the dealer and he said that he would fix it next week since he had already left the office. I'm guessing that they will give me the T6 Pro Smart instead, but I noticed that reviews on their website for that model aren't very good, nor are the reviews for their app. Is it as bad as the reviews say? I want to be able to control it from my phone and from Alexa. Is there some other model that is better? Thanks.

The T6 did have a bunch of problems. Especially with heat pumps, which you do not have. But the T6 WiFi did not, for everything I've heard, the WiFi T6 is solid.

They might look the same, but they are two completely different stats.

The T6 pro WiFi is my favorite thermostat.
Tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen and then tap the right arrow and see if there is an option that says WIFI like in the picture below.

Thanks, that is good to hear. I definitely do not have the Wi-Fi model. I scrolled through all the options and it isn't there. There's also no mention of it in the manual.

Is T6 Pro Wi-Fi model also the one that is a smart thermostat? I don't see one with just Wi-Fi that isn't smart.

If the tech doesn't set up the wifi for you and you have any trouble with it send me an email and I can help you out.
Getting through the initial wifi setup is the hardest part because it has to register the thermostat and the process can be fouled up by secure routers or a lot of simple mistakes. Once it is registered everything else is easy.

Thanks. I'm pretty good technically (but not HVAC) so hopefully I'll be able to get it set up.

Are the wires the same with the Wi-Fi model as the regular one? They had a bunch of problems wiring it because I had strange wires there with several whites. But they got it to work so if it uses the same wires, it should not be difficult to just swap out for the correct model.

Hey I like It hot. I was actually slightly uncomfortable because it wasn't warm enough but I'm trying to save gas so I didn't turn it up to 78 where I'm actually comfortable. I mean I actually had to wear a shirt what's up with that? [emoji1787]
