Without a variable speed blower, you will not get 14 SEER from the Allegiance 14. Even with variable speed you won't in many cases, such as tomorrow's job. Pretty sad. Otherwise a nice unit, beautiful cabinet, quiet, with swept wing fan blade and covered scroll.

The 24ABA is a low end Carrier, they are so proud of it they don't show it on their website. Only advantage is reaching 14 SEER with standard blower. It should be noticably lower $$ than the deluxe A-S. Really need to compare the 24ACA4 to the Allegiance 14. Then Carrier would have a real advantage.

The 13 isn't that quiet, standard fan blade, big old recip is audible even under a sound cover. Still probably better built that the builder Carrier though it has a Copeland scroll.
