Hey Everybody How's it going!
I am a homeowner replacing 5 ton York compressor/AH circa 1990.System was a workhorse,did a great job of cooling with NO major repairs,just yearly maintenance and periodic coolant recharges.Two years ago it dropped dead,at this point I want to replace compressor,air handler and all flex hose which is leaking.I am pricing trane 16 seer TEM6 A/H vs rheem 16 seer RA16 compressor RH1T A/H.Both contractors are within 10 miles of my home which is in the NorthEast.Rheem is priced 25% less than Trane.This cost difference is a big deal for me as I have numerous other home repairs.If it was your money and your home and your wife screaming "When are you going to get a new A/C"!!!! which would you choose?
