Hi all,

I am working on a Lennox horizontally mounted furnace (mod. G40DF-36A-070-09, s/n 5904F12405) and I need help identifying which model control board matches up. It's a White-Rodgers board, but I can't seem to find any numbers on it.

Also, I was wondering if there's an upgraded aftermarket board that would be more reliable. This is the second board I've replaced in 2 years on this thing.

Thanks in advance...

Can't the local Lennox rep supply it based on the numbers you have? What did they say about it? That they can't get it or what? No doubt a universal board could be made to operate the unit but that sometimes takes a lot of work - which spikes the labor cost way up.

Have a buddy with a bunch of these on the shelf. Going to try to grab one of those, but want to make sure I'm not plugging in the wrong board.

I'd first be wondering if there was a reason the boards were dying so quick.

Seems like the relays on this board are garbage. The one that runs the inducer motor sticks closed, which causes the motor to run constantly and when there's a call for heat, the board thinks the pressure switch is bad.

Ask the tech when he comes out the price difference in the OEM and Universal---If its been less than a year since you last changed it, HVAC Company who made the repair may warranty the part but not labor

What is the fla of the inducer motor?
What is the actual amp draw of the inducer?

There's only one SureLight board kit for Lennox now AFAIK. It's their number 10Y24 (old 83M00). White Rodgers does offer an aftermarket kit - 21D83M-843.

They are notorious for failing. Also, if you have replaced the ignitor make sure you're using a genuine Lennox ignitor. Aftermarket ignitors like Glowflies will cause problems.

Right on, brother. Thanks for the info.

Have not replaced the ignitor on this unit, but will keep that in mind for future reference.

Regarding the aftermarket kit; do you know if there are improvements to it or is it basically the same junk?
