My son stopped into graingers today it was crowded with homeowners. After waiting his turn he ordered a few parts that he needed to finish the job he was on. The woman behind him started complaining that he was taking to long. Now two things...the counter guy was almost useless, and they are selling to homeowners. The reason it took a while is because the counter guy could not help without a part number and could not think on his own. My son found the part number and the guy still was confused. Now he informed my son no discount to contractors...book (over) price. I do not use Grainger’s much, their pricing is lousy, half the time it's -we can have that here tomorrow. They clearly do not care about contractors and have not for over five years. So they are moving away from being a wholesaler to become a retailer. That is their right, I will only purchase from them in an emergency, I will buy from wholesalers that give better pricing and protect the contractors they sell to.
