Goodman furnace in ac mode fan speed ?

Ok we are living in a 2000 sf two story home ,
Has gas furnace and heat pump .
We usually use the furnace in the emergency mode because we are in the north east and it’s usually really cold and I just figure it’s cheaper to run furnace in gas mode as opposed to using electric .
Question is , today we turned the cool mode on and set it down to 65 just checking its operation.
It was 69 in the house .
It appears the heat mode has two fan stages ??
But the cool mode only one ?? Looking at the Honeywell digital stat
My question is , the fan speed seems VERY slow in the cool mode.
My other house the fan speed was super fast in cool mode, we didn’t have a heat pump just regular central ac
So is this something that I should call hvac company on when it gets warmer ??

Do you have a single stage A/C ?

Normally in cool mode, a GOOD installer will set the cooling air speed for approximately 400 CFM per ton of cooling. Sometimes that's higher than heat speed and sometimes lower.

I would think the cooling would run at the same speed as it does when the heat pump is heating.

I assume I do ? I know the fancy Honeywell stat when toggling to equipment status only shows 1 stage for cool.
But .. if I have the company come that maintains it . Can the fan speed be set to hi when in cool mode ?

It CAN be set on a y speed.

Will that provide the best operation, only someone competent can tell you that when they know the equipment capacity a d duct capacity.

The blower speed for the heat pump, heating or cooling, is likely the same.

The speed for the gas furnace is USUALLY different.
This could be higher or lower based on CAPACITY.

Also the furnace has this Aprilair humidifier on the side of the plenum ..
There is a “summer” and “ winter “ lever
I don’t think it has anything to do with the air speed felt coming out of the registers though

Is your furnace 2 stg? New furnaces move more air than ones of days gone by. The new furnace if oversized compared to HP/AC may need to move more air than the cooling mode. If the furnace is 2 stg it will have 2 fan speeds that should be set up to match the output for each stage.

If low speed will maintain the temperature in the house the furnace is oversized.

The winter/summer handle on the humidifier is to close the bypass damper so you are not bypassing cold air off the A/C back into the return like is done on heating to provide some heat to evaporate the water.

Maybe I misspoke , in the morning we bump the temp up from 65 to 70
The heat goes into go stage until it gets close to set temp , then goes to stage one
Then if it calls for heat to keep it at 70 , it only uses stage one
Our old house did the same
