Not the problem: Copper lines NOT frozen, filter replaced 2 weeks ago
Just now, July 11, 2020 at 3:00 PM, the system seemed to be running normally with normal cool air. Normally I can hear the air handler make a certain noise while the compressor is running, then the air handler slightly changes its noise, runs for maybe 20 more seconds, then shuts off. Does this all the time. Just now, the air handler was making the normal "I'm running to cool the house" noise, but then immediately shuts off. There is a weird buzz from the air handler area. Then the air handler restarts about 2 seconds later. It was almost like a brief power outage (and maybe that is what happened).
So my ears perk up and I check to see if something happened. What I describe is all within 2 minutes of the strange occurrence. At the compressor, it seems that it is making a louder buzz noise than normal. This Goodman compressor system is extremely quite, so much so, I often think it is not working. Just sounds like the big compressor fan is running. Now the compressor fan is running and I can hear the compressor. I shut off the system and will see if it resets or something.
In the meantime, its Saturday and it's supposed to be 111F today. Tomorrow, 114F. We are in for some suffering if this isn't something simple. Is this something simple? Anything else I can check?
