We lost power yesterday, so this morning I rented a generator and wired up the 110 bypassing the switch on the side of it. The blower motor turns on when I turn my thermostat to on for fan, but it will not heat. The control board just blinks constantly. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably not properly grounded/bonded, or your generator isn't generating clean power. If it doesn't work when your back on street power, you probably smoked something with a power surge.

We are not allowed to give technical advice in the AOP forums as that is not the purpose of the site. For a consumer/homeowner, make sure the thermostat is set in heat mode and set above room temperature. Beyond that you'll need to call a technician.
