I have been finding a few leaking evap coils on First Co. Air handlers with hot water coils. These evaps are barely 4 years old. The warranty from first co. one year. First Co. = garbage . Any thoughts on other hydro air brands.

I've been using nothing but first co's we install a ton of hydro systems here in new england and most people are using a better air handler with an in line coil or tam 7 but not every job has a budget for Trane equipment. A close friend of mine who is also a member of the site he is a pro member and the best tech I know he has taught me well over the years and still continues to but anyway at his own house his evap coil on his hbxb variable speed is leaking and the replacement coil for the ah is a ripoff for such a cheap made product. I just started to use the ADP hydro units because they are very similar in quality and the ADP is much better on the wallet. One of my customers is a kitchen and bath designer and she does a lot of buisness with a local plumbing supply house that stocks heat controller products and they make a hydro unit as well and it was actually a really nice unit variable speed also (they supplied I installed) I'm not familiar with heat controller but I think it's a Nordyne product but don't quote me. The Heat Controller outdoor units weren't my fav but they did the trick spoke to her this a.m and she said the ac is great. I'm going to house in the a.m for no cool call that has 5 first co hbxb and 2 out of the five not working I hope you didn't jinx me.

the first co. with the leaking evap is a 30hbxb-hw, just added gas for now , not going to try and fix it till I hear back from First co. Cant believe the one year warranty. Everyone else is 5. ADP ahu's are great no problems ever. Seen a few new carrier evap leaks. Its gotta be in the manufacturing. I am tired of hearing about house hold voc's etc causing the leaks. Its ade to be in a house should be able to handle someone spraying lysol. Copper is too thin.
