Say this at a rental Friday. The reason I was there was the landlord replaced the thermostat and it was set up for heat pump not gas and ac, and now the unit shuts down after 20 minutes of run time. I jumpered it out and found the gas pressure at 4.3" and a 100 temperature rise. Blower was already in high. I adjusted gas down to 3" and now have a 75 temperature rise. this is a 100,000 btu 80% on just under 600 sq. ft. :eek2:

But thought that this was good also.

Maybe they're using the coil as a high efficiency filter

Holy drip leg batman, also Union to gas valve is incredibly long. At least they went with the economy return drop, the refrigerated filter is easily cleanable.

Note the signs of condensation dripping from the burner area. Wonder why that is........

So you set a pot roast out in the morning and come home to delicious fixins'

Cap off two of em and meet down at the pub for a drink

Hey, at least they tried to spray paint the gas line...oh well part of it, oh and everything else around it.

Simply an atrocity no matter how you look at this thing.

obviously you've never seen an ancient furnace where the drip leg holds up the gas line. they can be 18" long or more and the cap rests on the floor.
Like this?

i'd rather the gas company do that than rest all the weight on the furnace valve, one of our new installs sooted up because the gas company changed the way the manifold was installed anyway they had a 10 pound to 14 inch regulator and four other gas lines mounted on the pipe that fed the furnace valve. had an old hanging scale on my truck, after i took all that loose from the furnace, i hooked the scale to it and lifted it back to the point where it was level with the furnace valve and the scale was showing 35 pounds. thats probably not the actual weight, but thats a lot of strain on an aluminum valve body. :gah: i wish i had thought to take pictures

I bet the slumlord got the furnace used. had his drugie of a maintenance guy install it. or some hack from hell install it.

either way it sucks. what was the duct size?

when you go back in the summer for the ac. please make a video. I bet we will all love to see this thing in action
