I didn't even notice. Duck Boards are properly used by taxidermist's to staple freshly stuffed ducks to so they can be easily fastened to a wall.

Its a big staple out west for supply and return lines and such. Web have a dry air out here (they say). :)

It dulls up the knifes real quickly.

If you do it right it looks great and lasts forever. Like the job we did in the above picture.

All of our work in done in accordance with the SMACNA manual "Fibrous Glass Duct Construction Standards"

If you are a DIY and you don't do it correctly then it will look like crap and duct board will get a bad rap. I would rather you use that prefab metal duct that every body sell and knock that together.

PS: I put up duck boards for my critters and they still waddled out onto the road.

Ok Benn you are right. I admit that looks as good as any of my metal jobs.
Ive been scared by the clean ups after hacks and carpenters with a knife and a roll of tape.

in one of the apartment communities i recently took over,i had a call for no air ,when i looked at the airhandler,i found that someone had accessed an A coil by cutting away the front of its case and used duckboard to replace it,anyway the tape didnt hold, ended up installing new cased coil...

benncool, that is a good looking install:)

Yep I am the only one that uses duct board around here. The itch really isn't all that bad, lots of tricks to keep it down. No not that itch!

Here is one Dice taught me, he won't admit it since it was an accident. First cover your arm with baby power, then slip in some ladies stockings ... over your arms of course, don't forget to make finger holes, next slip on some latex gloves. You will have to dust your self with powder every so often. Options: Stick some petroleum jelly up your nose if a mask is too much trouble.

The new duct board is much better than it use to be.

You know I wonder if sheet rock was frowned upon over wood panels?

Over the years I've done metal and fiberglas duct. As for one over he other, the ductboard wins.....only 'cause I'd rather itch than bleed. :)

If you have to wrap or line the metal....well you're going to itch AND bleed. :D

I started out installing metal ducts in commercial buildings... My hands look liked a masicust (SP?)... I then installed duct board in modular homes... Itched like I had chiggers... Now I do service... What? Thats it. :)

I need to go to Texas, toting my camera, to capture THIS image.:D

I think it's terrible. And although beeny likes to post that pick every month, I still think it sucks. And Duct Board will not last no matter how good it's put together.

Duct Board Does not belong in a commercial building anywhere. Anywhere. No one will convince me that ductboard is as durable and long lasting as a comparable well put together metal duct job. I have seen too many jobs where that crap falls aparat. Every single return air I have seen imploded, with out the control being horked up was duct board. It's terrible.
