You may have followed my problems over the last years. First DSS, then a coated coil that got slimey. Well, the experts from Trane corporate were out yesterday with lots of fancy equipment. Their conclusion was I needed bigger returns or less restrictive filters. They said the pressure and volumes were to high and it was letting the coil get tooooo cold and that this was causing the slime.
So, I guess I will add a return, but in the meantime I stuck a standard old blue filter in today and the difference in sound and pressure are amazing. I was using the 3M Filtretes before.
Anyone think this will really solve my problem?
One other small item. They switched some jumpers to make my comfort-r work differently. I seems a little more humid after the switch, but not sure. I think the installer had some Y jumpers in and it was supposed to be an O or something like that.
