Howdy fellers,
So i have a stone age forced air furnace Carrier unit MO# 585CJ030050. And i am not afraid to admit that this unit is kicking my butt. I am a young tech, I am very comfortable troubleshooting, but this set up is very unfimiliar to me being that the unit is 20+ years old. Client does not want to replace the unit, they want to limp it along as long as possible. So...
I am geting a call for heat, i can smell the gas engage, but no spark from the ignitor/pilot, which obvioulsy results in no flame in the burners. I have gone through tracing the 24volt and i bought two parts feeling comfortable with what i think is the solution, but i love to get feed back when im not 100% set. The service call is tomorrow, lets hear what you guys think! Any thoughts from my veterans who recognize this set up?
Main Componants in the heating cycle:
1. Heating Relay
2. Gas valve
3. Electric ignitor ignition
4. ignitor/pilot with pilot tube
5. burners
Outdoor residential package unit, NO INDUCE FAN MOTOR OR PRESSURE SWITCH.
