Does anyone know what the difference is between the Bosch BOVA and BOVC heat pumps (for example BOVA-36HDN1-M20G vs BOVC-36HDN1-M20G). I've looked at both spec sheets and they are identical in every way that I can tell.

Thanks,
Harry

I moved your thread to the "AOP Residential HVAC and Refrigeration (Beenthere Zone)" forum as this is the only forum where homeowners can ask non-technical HVAC/Refrigeration questions, and seek advice.

Please take note of this new location.

Thanks. I assumed that talking spec differences between two heat pump condensers qualified as a technical question. But as long as someone helps me figure out the answer I'm fine with it being in any sub forum.

AHRI shows the C model as having 30 matches or thereabouts and says production stopped, while the A model has over 200 matches or thereabouts did not go through all 200+- but the few that where checked said active.

Supply a coil model number and brand to use on both units as an example can tell you the SEER2, EER2 and HSPF2 of each model, or even if it’s a matched system.

Also mentions “series“ under A or C, so maybe a different generation. Could be very subtle differences such as a different paint scheme, or motor brand on outdoor unit or even compressor brand, ask your crack HVAC Contractor if your getting bids, I would think it’s the least they can do to get you an answer to earn your business..
