We do the schedule natively in our front end with tridium or ALC for example. That outputs a binary value we write via bacnet to Daikin or whatever.

I’ve looked into writing directly to bacnet schedule objects before but not actually done it. Some of them don’t support all the different possibilities operators would put in anyway.

Thanks MaxBurn

Are there any Open Source bacnet front-ends that could possibly do this?
[ currently doing a ton of googling to find any that can help me with scheduling ]

Thanks!

Hi All,

I have read thru this thread and tried everything but I continue to get the cannot communicate error in the setup software. I used wireshark and found the ip address (192.168.222.3) but it will not connect. I tried with a crossover cable and straight cable using a switch. I also purchased a serial to usb cable but that doesnt show any communication at all. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears, PLEASE.

Good morning TRap250

Here are my notes on setup:

Daikin Bacnet Gateway (D-BACS) DSM502B51 Communication Procedure:

1. RS232-C Cable (Null Modem Partial Handshake) – ONLY MEANS OF COMMS IF THE GATEWAY’S IP ADDRESS IS UNKNOWN
1.1. Create a Null Modem Via: Control Panel/Network Settings/Phone and Modem Options
1.2. Create a new connection: Office network using the above modem to connect
1.3. Set PC IP address in Null Modem Connection properties to 192.168.3.x (x>1)
1.4. Connect Null Modem Partial Handshake Cable to RS232C-1
1.5. Run SetupBACnet.exe and enter IP: 192.168.3.1 (When using the Null Modem Cable, the Gateway’s IP is forced to this value)
1.6. CHECK/SET the gateway’s IP Address and mask and default gateway (used for Ethernet connection)
2. Ethernet - FASTER MEANS OF COMMS WHEN THE GATEWAY’s IP ADDRESS IS KNOWN
2.1. Change PC IP Address in LAN Connection: Match the IP confirmed in 1.6 HOWEVER change the last number of the IP Address to one decimal value higher
2.2. Connect Cross-over Ethernet 100BASE-TX cable from the PC to the Ethernet port on the Gateway
2.3. Run SetupBACnet.exe and enter IP: IP confirmed in 1.6
2.4. CHECK/SET the gateway’s IP Address and mask and default gateway (used for Ethernet connection)

NOTE: Please make sure you UN-plug the gateway from the network when re-booting the device, as it may get stuck in a boot-loop otherwise.

Hello everyone

Does anybody have an expirience with older version of bacnet gateway DMS502A51? It was made probably in 2008, but it is completely new, and was sold by Daikin last year.
Somehow I managed to change IP address, and now i can't get any response from it.
I tried to use RS232 25 pin cable, but I can't connect to the gateway from my laptop win Win 7.
Is it possible to make a hard reset on it?

Hey guys, I am sorry to be another person to ask but is it possible for someone to please email me the software to access/ commisioning the Daikin DBACs? I would be super grateful! Thanks, Ben :)
