Keep in mind, someone got paid for that installation. On a time spent and material basis, they probably didn't make any money. But the dollar amount will be greater than you charge and make. So who made the profit. Not you and I for fixing it. The Hackaroo did.

Did any one catch the comment on the goodman and illegals wahla? Or just me decides to day anything? I am the first to say as a Latino I see better workmanship out of illegals than many so called seasoned installers. that is the main reason why so much work is sub contracted to them it is because of the cocky and ignorant guys that have lost ground to them simply cause they think they are entitled to the work. So much for that thought. Granted they do the work for less and down brings down the price of work and wages but don't mistake that with workmanship. I suppose since this is an educational forum I had to answer that ignorance with some informational response.

I'll put my work up beside anyone. Some might do better, some might not.
What irritates me is not pricing jobs against honest mechanics. I get annoyed when bidding against people that the IRS doesn't even know, exist. I object to people that work in Cash Only, with no receipts. I object to companies that hire illegals and pay them less because they know they can't complain. I object to companies that hire "Sub-Contractors and pay them in cash. While the "Sub-Contractors don't come close to passing the sniff test for being Sub-Contractors and are actually uncompensated employees. Its tough to compete against companies that can lower their costs like that and the regular companies won't.
As long as companies are willing to hire cheap illegal labor, the problem won't go away.
You insinuate that I'm a hack. I think that any individual or company that hires an illegal should (and is) be responsible for hiring illegals and should be heavily fined. That would stop illegals from working right fast. If you don't think employers should be responsible for hiring illegals by checking papers, you must do that. That includes "Contractors" who hire illegal alien subs to do covered and protected work. They might as well be sending work to Asia or South of the US border.
I now live in South Florida. Where I live, I ride my bicycle all over the area for exercise. I have not seen one landscape company doing yard work that had a white person in the crews. One has a white owner. Either no whites want to do the work, or they can't take the heat and stress.
Are you heat tolerant or would you have someone young or of color do your heat work?
