I have installed a few mini-splits. In each case it was a simple one head per room situation. I am planning an install, new construction, in which I would like to avoid using two wall mount heads. I am asking if experience has shown that two adjoining rooms can be conditioned with one head, if the door remains open. I have assumed that it isn't a great idea, but now I am asking the question. I know it has been done, but I don't know how well it works.
I don't want Air Share transfer fans.
I am also asking about experiences with ceiling cassettes. Without real world experience, I feel like they could present servicing difficulties.
I have studied the ducted air handler-type inverter systems, and the horizontal ducted attic systems. Those use ducts, negating one of the attractive features of ductless mini-splits. And again, I see some potential servicing problems I am not liking.
I may use the ceiling cassette for one room. Any input is appreciated.
