Installer started working yesterday to add a 4t scroll condensing unit in a residential application. Before quote, I asked that it be done by the book and specifically with N2 purge while brazing. Installer's interpretation was that I wanted a neat job ( which I appreciate ). The lines were run in hard copper HACR tubing, so lots of joints. I looked in a few times and am pretty that the N2 purge did not happen even though he says that it did. I don't think that the TXV got the benefit of wet rag either. He's working back to the condensing unit today. It would be difficult to tell him how to do the job, but at the same time I don't want to be living with a less efficient or reliable system. What about a filter on the suction line before going into the unit ?
