Hey all. So I know nothing about central air. Never knew you had to clean the coils as I never knew anyone that had central air before. Anyways mines filthy. I mean its bad. I was going to attempt to do the condenser coil (thats the outside one right?) but my hands don't work to well after my brain injury and im afraid ill end up ripping out wires out getting them soaked. Just out of curiosity what are the main benefits from someone who doesn't know besides the obvious extended life of unit? Figured Ill probably hire someone and swallow my pride.
Also the evaporater coil inside. I cant access it. It's inside a sealed vent. No foil tape or anything. The lines coming out of it are sealed/insulated. No real way to clean that then?
Air flow in house seems decent, I figured itd be stronger but guess not. Im diligent on changing the filter every 30 days.
Also I have the thermostat at 74 and the air coming out of the vent is 56-58 degrees does that sound about right? Its about 88 today and it's turning on once every 45-50 minutes and running for about 20 or minutes in a 1300 sq ft Single L Ranch
Thanks!
