Several years ago I did AC work with R22 and am now a retired home builder. My residence has AC unit with 410a and it is not cooling correctly. I purchased new 410a gauge set and liquid line adapter and have access to 410a refrigerant. The charging rules seem to be different or at least unfamiliar to me from the r22 stuff. I have a few questions. Rheem 2 ton wth heat pump and a txv at coil. I put gauge set on a few days ago and read the following. Outdoor temp 78f. Suction Line pressure 100/32f, Liquid Line 250/84 degrees. Read temperature at liquid line with digital probe at 77f. It is my understanding that the sub cool is 84-77 or 7 degrees subcool. Referring to the attachment it states Design Sub Cooling in cooling mode(at the service valve)@95 degrees out door=15 degrees. I am a little confused with the 95 degrees outdoor =15 degrees. It will be about 85 degrees in a few days when I charge unit and am not sure what sub cool target I should be looking at. I do understand as I slowly add burst of refrigerant thru line adapter that liquid line temperature should slowly go down as pressure/temp rises. Creating the correct subcool temp. I understand the mechanics and correct way to add refrigerant but uncertain how to interpret the correct subcool temp, something less than 15 degrees I assume. So this is where I need some help and or advice on determining the correct subcool temp. Thanks for any help and I hope attachment is readable. HRTULL
