Got a unique intermittent issue.Customer stated fan going on\off rapidly, and no heat every 7 or 10 days.I found broken door switch, barely hanging on.Replaced, start Her up,was about to leave-inducer starts going on/off,then turns slowly, then On/off,On/off.I run out to my van for a Meter, come back in,flip the switch on,inducer runs normal.Put on amp Probe, trying to catch it losing power.Noisy, draws 2.1 on Hot and 2.8 on neutral, rated for 2.6 RLA.But runs normal, proved a draft and fired.Could be bad relay on Ignition Board, got 120 to motor. I would think it's the Draft Motor with those reads.Never had a board be Intermittent.York,TG90809S.Any advice appreciatediated!Ran it for an hour, couldn't repeat the condition.

I would have to lean toward the board. Probably a bad relay like you said. As a rule of thumb motors don't go wacky like that when they go bad. You said it turns slowly at one point. Any chance it was free wheeling once power was lost?

Maybe, just couldn't get my meter on fast enough. All was well when I came back in.But that inducer is noisy, like bearings worn. The close to max read in amps got me thinking, motor.

Appreciate the input. This is a Big Apartment Complex, thier own guys do minor repairs, but call us when it gets more involved.I just figured a relay acting up for a few months would of crapped the bed by now. Then again,so would a motor,id think.

Check the incoming power - L1 to neutral, L1 to ground, Neutral to ground. Tug and pull at wires, check voltage drop across the on/off switch
