I should have added to my question...

If I'm just looking to modify points and time schedules on two RTUS, what's the best software. I'm currently using the old Network Service Tool which is DOS based. I understand Service Tool V is now available (where can I get it online?). However, I'm I better off using another program? (i.e. ComfortVIEW?) or is Network Service Tool V the way to go?

thanks!
If this is all you need access/modify on just the 2 RTU's. The SystemPilot may be a cost effective option. It can do everything NSTV can on these RTU's.

You can probally get 2 of these cheaper than NSTV and eliminate the need for a laptop. If the 2 RTU's are connected on a Comm Bus, you only need to use one on the network as it can attached to either RTU.

I have never tried a serial port dongul [like the earlier NSTs] with NST V but I don't think they will work [that is not the "Carrier way"]. The new USB powered adapter is a paperback book sized plastic box that has multiple buss connection options for different connectors. NST V looks for this adapter to run. NST V looks a lot like Comfortview except it has address seach and the other NST functions.
AFAIK you need the USB Adapter. It also functions as the key for the software like the parallel port one for NSTIV or the purple key for CView.
