I've got GMPN100 that I've added a heat pump.I heat 80% of the time with 5 ton goodman hp.It will take care of the load in the house, down to about 22 Outside temp.I only have just one stage heat..THX

To get two-stage gas heat, you should change the furnace.

Changing the gas valve, inducer and controls to convert to two-stage will be expensive and violate the UL certification. Few contractors are willing to assume that level of liabiity.

Nordyne has kits for some older models:rolleyes:

You can do whatever you want, but if the furnace blows up insurance isn't going to cover anything. :p

Oh nice post. Evidently you don't know how many less informed people will take your post as an "OK TO DO".

I was, and I am serious.

I have had this question asked by home owners in person.

Why would you expect them to know that its not something that should be done. They are not the ones that are suppose to be technically knowledgable about equipment. We are.

So I think its a valid question for a home owner/customer to ask.

Now if he asked if it was ok to tap into his neighbors gas meter. That would be a different story.

Maybe all your customers have degrees in HVAC, and you just provide parts and labor.

I wonder if they can set the count to a permanent 13. :)
Oh I could just see you with a post count of 13....

How ever would you get a question answered by the higher number post guy:eek:

Don't sweat it LGB. This topic is perfectly ok. There are some issues that reappear that can get dicey. Just stick around and you'll catch on pretty quick to what flies and what doesn't.
