It is one of the heat pump configuration settings. Your installer can help you with this.

 

Do you know this for sure I have looked everywhere is this on a secret menu or something. I asked the installer they said it's a newer thermostat and that it kicks in the aux heat that is gas that the thermostat does it automatically but I don't buy that and I want to control the temperature of when it goes from heat pump to propane . They said they would look at documentation and get back with me but haven't yet? Are you familiar with this thermostat ?

 

Well, when they installed the thermostat, the manual would have been right in their hand, so I can't see why they would need to look any further.

 

It just says in the manual that came in box they left me hybrid management capable.

 

I finally found dealer documentation. I have it set to 35 degrees now. I won't share how to get into the menu because if you change the wrong settings well you can hurt your system.

35 sounds like a high balance temp.

 

What do you suggest I chose that because googling info I see lots of posts saying 35 and above is optimal range for heatpump ?

 

30 or even 25 might be better. Varies with what you pay for electric and for gas. Around here, if the heat pump can handle the load, 25 works out as a better temp.
