I have a Bryant Evolution 180a/187a unit, there was a crack in the tubing at the compressor, and all the refrigerant leaked out. The unit threw an error code for a low pressure trip. It has since been braised and vacuumed and tested to hold pressure overnight and been recharged with Puron / 410a. Until this crack happened the unit was working fine.

We tried to start the unit, the bottom contactor pulls in, but the top one does not. The contactor tested good and doesn't engage. We did get an error code of 47.

I'm trying to figure out why the top contactor is not pulling in. Is there something that needs to reset on the unit?

Thank you so much, we truly appreciate your help!

I turned off the power, turned it back on, and tried to run it, fan kicked on and now it has an error code of 72 again. Not sure what is going on, but still the top contactor won't engage.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.
Time you get a service that is familiar with that models operation.

Have your contractor research the "Technical Bulletin" on that control board (HK38EA003) relating to error code 72.

Side note: If you still have the original compressor in that unit, it is one of the "Bristol Twin Single" (TS) compressors as noted earlier, and you should evaluate all options before putting too much money into this unit.
