I realize this is an old thread, but what happens when all 999 ID are taken? 10001?

Its used by device manufacturers as a unique identifier for their devices. So if youre not a manufacturer you dont need one.

I realize this is an old thread, but what happens when all 999 VendorIDs have been assigned? Assuming a manufacturer wants to be able to use non-standard information?
Will the list of VendorIDs continue to grow? So, since 999 is reserved, then 10000, 10001, etc?
