Finally after getting a job I enjoy and a shift I prefer I find out today I'm working with a back stabber. Goes running to the boss as soon as I did something he didn't agree with. Shut off a heating coil with a broken water valve,(broken for at least 2 yrs and they don't seem to want to fix it.)Nurses,doctor and patients were roasting. First day into the seventies and cooling towers where not ready. Got yelled at and had turn hot water back on. Doctor and nurses whern't happy.It had finally gotten bearable in there again. I'm not so much mad at him as I'm mad about having to deal with this type of situation for another 15-20yrs.

MCR, for a second I thought you and I were co-workers. i work in very similar conditions. best advice I ever got about working in a place like that was just stay out of the politics and do your job. Wanna move to Cali?

Dot get me wrong I play by my balls too,the other way is more fun, because they never know whats going to hit them, lets put it this way one is gone, the other one try to redeem himself, I let him think that I forgot.

Yeah, I've worked with a couple guys like that. If we're working on a job together, and it doesn't go well, over the bid or whatever, they tell the boss it was all my fault, and I end up taking the heat.

They'll smile to your face, but trash you behind your back to save themselves.

Call their company pagers or cell phones from a strip bar. Tell the dispatcher not the boss to check their logs. She'll do your dirty deed to the boss.


BTW: When you do something like the water valve ALWAYS tell your supervisor. Ratting on ypurself is a 1000 per cent better than somebody else doing it.

keeping the radar up......one trick i learned was when your working on a job with somebody talking sports,families,sitdown lunchs,beers after work...everthing is great with the give and take!you see this guy in front of the OWNERS/SM in the office enviro and he acts like you just came out of trade school,when you add to a conversation about the job.that person can never be trusted,and you will only know it when a job goes south and he buries you to the boss.

You cannot be a renegade in an environment like that.You need to get everything cleared first with your boss then coordinated with the staff.If you do what your told & get clearance for everything else then you will do alot better.I just am happy I only have to work in the hospitals here about once a year!Good luck to you!
