Okay - I know that this is not a DIY advice site. Nevertheless, I did receive some good advice before a moderator shut the thread down.
For what it is worth, I do have a maintenance contract on the two systems servicing my home where guys like you come out twice a year to make sure all is well.. Let's talk about that for a moment...
On by last scheduled maintenance, the tech suggested that I clean the coils on the outdoor units between their visits. Might I ask what that foaming cleaner he used was and where to buy it, or is that out of bounds?
Moving back to the car, one member asked about its Blue Book value. That was the right question! My Volvo mechanic told me to just top it up and not fix it.
Automotive A/C is something of a grey area on this website. DIY advice is not permitted, but automotive questions are almost entirety DIY. It's not as if I will come to see one of you for this problem, nor is it likely that any of you have any interest in solving it.
