I am trying to find out pipe sizes for adapters
I have both a Low and a High side Quick connector for
134 A
I am using my service gauges"R-12" hoses
to connect to a 30 Pound Cylinder of R-134 A
The two adapters fit the Automobile Hi and Lo ports
In addition They both have a female pipe port
I want to use a pipe thread X 1/4 Inch flare connector
What size is the Female pipe thread?
Is there a standard pipe/thread size for the Male connection on the hand held 14 Ounce R-134 A cans, sold in auto stores

Some proprietary stuff. It's not a pipe thread. Look in CPS or Robinair automotive catalog. You're probably better off just buying a set that directly outputs to 1/4" since you can get a pair for $20 or so, which is what you'd end up spending on finding the special fittings.

30 lbs tank comes in two types too. If you get it from Sam's Club or Autozone, it'll most likely be 1/2" ACME. If you get it from HVAC-R supply house, it will be 1/4" SAE.
You need the "Auto/R134a bottle to HVAC/R12" adapter. They might have it at the supply house as it's often cheaper to get R134a from Sam's Club and such and refrigeration guys often do so.

They have two types. Automotive to HVAC and HVAC to automotive. If supply house don't have it, you'll probably have to order it at NAPA. You'll find uses for it. Small cans and a smaller scale that reads to 0.01oz works better for refrigeration equipment that only holds a pound or so.

And what are you doing with automotive refrigerant?

TS: If you're contemplating adjusting the charge on your car with gauges. don't. Completely recover the charge. Weigh it like you would a hermetic reach-in with the same level of precision.

I think he's a commercial tech trying to DIY on his car?

Guess i was wrong, just checked my harbor setup, and advance jug, and it's all you need, i needed the adapter for my normal 1/4" gauges.
That thing is a total POS. It's way too expensive for a one-time use tool. I threw it away after i did my manifold teardown thread. Mine has a one-way leak on one of the stems. It holds pressure, but slowly leaks atmosphere into vacuum through the gland and I wasted time trying to find that leak before I noticed it was the manifold.

I picked up one of those cheapie manifolds for 134a. First time I put the high side fitting on the system, the hose came off the manifold fitting and hit me right in the face, not to mention striking me several times. Sort of like being whipped. Took the manifold back while there was still a red mark across my face. Got a new one and a refund..

"Mama always said...."
What did your mama say?

Did she understand how strict the flammability requirements were relative to gasoline?

Remember, the R-290 in an automotive A/C are what, two or three pounds? Relative to two hundred pounds of gasoline that have a huge range of flammability.

If you have concerns, please state them.
