I bought a house last year with an 8 year old Goodman A/C system. It recently developed a refrigerant leak in the all aluminum evaporator coil. I've been told by a couple of contractors that all evaporator coils are made total of aluminum now. However, the Ruud website is showing evaporator coils made of copper with aluminum fins. Are there any manufacturers that offer coils made of copper? It seems that the copper ones may not fail as soon. I've owned A/C systems for many years and I've never had a leak in the evaporator coil before. Thanks for your help.
