I am getting my crawlspace fixed and many of the basement companies recommend the SaniDry dehumidifiers
Exhausting air to outside sucks in outside air. The basement will be wet when the outside air is damp and dry when the outside air is cold/dry.I am having some air borne mold issues in my basement. Walls are all dry, the basement has been finished for 4 years but I am beginning to get some musty smell and there is some mold build up showing on some of my storage boxes in the back near the furnace.
Can any one recommend a possible solution? I had EZ Breathe people stop by but their cost is $1500. It throws inside air out and fresh air has to be pulled in from the outside. Sounds energy inefficient to me, but should work.
Can a dehumidifier work or what about ERV/HRV? What about providing additional supply and return in the ducts in basement? Please suggest your ideas. Thanks.
Hi,I have a 2011 model and it just failed-probably the condenser. It was 1600 new which means it cost me about about $400 a year. The purchase was part of a dry basement installation and while I like my local company, they say they really cannot touch it and to ship it is about $400 and then what ever parts it cost to replace I would pay. Not a good investment for something that I thought was a premier product.
Mechanical equipment breaks from time to time, it's a fact of life. Cars, guns, air conditioners, toys, tvs and on.I have a sani dry, 2011 it was installed and it just started doing the same thing. Dry basement who did my basement system says it is about $400 to ship and then I have to pay parts. Very disappointed in the product and a bit disappointed in Dry Basement systems for selling me such a high end piece of trash. sid 109 sn 08027
If we can confirm that this is Therma-Stor manufactured product, we would consider an all out "make a disapointed customer happy" discount price on a new unit.Hi,I have a 2011 model and it just failed-probably the condenser. Same old story, call Justin, 800 533 7533 ask for Justin. Let him sort it out. He will do what he can.We purchased an enclosed basement system with a dehumidifier from a local specialist in the business. We were sold a Sanidry CX Generation 1 which broke down only after a few months of use. The internal workings of the dehumidifier were replaced under warranty to make the unit a Generation 2 unit. That unit has since broken down. The drypro people have refused to make us whole and will neither replace the unit nor repair it. I was told by the drypro repair man that they have had much trouble with the Sanidry product. Does anyone else know about this issue?
Thanks for the feed back. The Sani-Dry CX is made in China for Basement Systems.Thank you Teddy Bear. Unfortunately, Therma-Stor no longer has a connection with the SaniDry line which is manufactured by Basement Systems in Seymour, CT. I spoke with the warranty people at Basement Systems. They do not want to stand behind their product though the installer of the system said he has experienced a lot of problems with the Sanidry CX product. The lines freeze over, then defrost and short out. Best, Reiss.
Hello Teddy Bear,Thanks for the feed back. The Sani-Dry CX is made in China for Basement Systems.
Would appreciate it if you would try a Sante-Fe product when you decide to replace the trouble-some unit.
Keep us posted.
